Saturday evening- luxury camping and Easter thoughts

Because it's Easter weekend, the cafe on the campsite is open for evening meals, so we were able to book in, and avoid having to carry any food for this evening. The added bonus of this was being sure of a warm evening before retreating to the tent.

The food was very delicious, we had a risotto and a pasta dish, and shared half and half.

And who could resist the Easter sundae! Which comes with one mini foil wrapped egg which we shall enjoy for breakfast tomorrow!

This was our table- it became too dark to get a photo of the view, so here a picture outside looking in. We asked to move to a window table as at first we were allocated a wallside table, and this was a great move!

Outside the window we could see a field of the tiniest lambs, who were running and bounding with so much energy. Beyond the lambs, looking across to Lindisfarne, we were waiting for the appearance of a fire on the shoreline . It was to be lit as part of an Easter vigil, before a procession to the church. It was a special moment to see the fire spark into life. It was just becoming dusk, and the lambs seemed to have an extra burst of frivolity at that time. A very poignant contrast between the sombre vigil that follows the crucifixion, and the irrepressible joy of new life. Guess nobody told the lambs the celebration starts tomorrow!

Shall aim to photo the lambs in the morning with better light!

Easter full moon! As Easter is timed each year with the lunar calendar, the tide times across the sands are always very similar.

Until tomorrow!
